Although not as variable as at Classic Sweden, June weather in Denmark is hard to forecast. Temperatures vary from around 10 to 20°C but can get up to the high 20s. July is Denmark’s sunniest month, but this doesn’t mean there’s no chance of rain. Our best advice is to check the weather before you start packing at www.yr.no

We’ve put together a packing list for Classic Denmark. But basically a backpack, tent, sleeping bag, stove and trekking clothes for both rain and sunshine. Don’t forget your map, torch and first aid kit either.

The route is clearly marked on your map and with signs. Plus, there are lots of other trekkers around to help too.

Yes. Your Hiking Pass will be stamped at each checkpoint.

Yep, but it needs to kept on a lead at all times.

No, there’s no formal time limit for completing Fjällräven Classic Denmark. However, hiking is only allowed between 8 am and 7 pm each day. Note that we close the checkpoints after a certain time so we ask you to arrive at each checkpoint in good time. Below are the closing times for each checkpoint:   Østrupgaard 3 pm Holstenshuus 7 pm Præstens Skov 3 pm Egebjerg 7 pm Svendborgsundbroen 3 pm Bjørnemose Gods 7 pm

While walking for three consecutive days and covering a distance of 75km is not easy, with the right preparation and positive frame of mind, almost anyone can do it. You don’t need to have loads of experience, more just a willingness to try. But you need to be comfortable carrying a heavy backpack on consecutive days on undulating terrain.

The main thing is to properly walk in your hiking boots and get used to carrying a heavy backpack. Start with easy walks in your local area and build up to over-night trips in more undulating terrain. We recommend that you have at least 200 hiking kilometres under your belt before your hit the Classic Denmark trail.

We provide you with freeze-dried meals for breakfast and dinner each day. These are designed to be filling and nutritious and meet the requirements of an average adult. Lunch is rye bread with cold cuts/ toppings. We’ll also provide you with snacks, fresh fruit and tea and coffee. But of course, feel free to bring your own snacks too.

No. But drinking water will be available at all checkpoints and camps.

Help is on hand at every checkpoint and camp. There are never many kilometres between checkpoints so help is never far away and you can always ask fellow trekkers.

If you are driving, you can park your car for free at Bjørnemose Gods (finish). From here, we have free Classic busses to Faldsled Havn (start). Are you travelling by public transport, it’s easiest if you travel to Svendborg Station. We also provide transfers from the station to the start area. You’ll be able to choose time of bus transfer when you register for a ticket. Important! It’s not a good idea to park your car at the start area since we will not help you with transportation back to the start area. We recommend that you park your car at Bjørnemose Gods (Bjørnemosevej 40, 5700 Svendborg) and go with our free Classic busses to Faldsled.

Free parking will be available at Bjørnemose Gods (Bjørnemosevej 40, 5700 Svendborg). We then provide transfers to the start at Faldsled Havn on the 4th, 5th and 6th of July. You’ll be able to choose time of bus transfer when you register for a ticket

Yes most of the trek. But we recommend turning it off and enjoy nature for a few days.

Yep, we certainly think so. They help with balance over slippery parts and make going up and down hill easier too. We recommend telescopic poles that you can adjust. You can then shorten them when going up hill and lengthen them when going down. Shock absorbing poles are also a great idea over long distances.
