You can arrive on Wednesday 8th July and camp in the Fjällräven Classic UK basecamp close to the start at Blair Castle. If travelling by car, follow the signs to the dedicated parking area. If travelling by bus or train, it is only a 5 minute walk to the Classic UK basecamp from the station in Blair Atholl.
If you arrive during the day on Wednesday, you can visit Blair Castle. There is a special entrance price of £10 for Classic UK participants.
Registration will be open from 4pm to 10pm on Wednesday and from 7am to 8:30am on Thursday.
At registration, you will collect your food, fuel, map and Trekking Pass. You can then make any final preparations, weigh your backpack, consult the trekking hosts, and purchase some event merchandise or snacks as you finalise your game plan for the trek ahead.
You will also receive your safety tag to tie to your backpack for the trek. With the safety tag visible, it is clear that you are part of the event and eligible to receive food, fuel and support at the checkpoints.
We will begin the trek on Thursday 9th July in front of Blair Castle. Make sure you pass through the Fjällräven tent and get the first stamp on your trekking pass before hitting the trail.
There are two start groups, one at 09:00 and one at 09:15, and you choose which one you want to start in when you purchase your ticket. Late arrivals will still be able to start the trek up until 12pm, but we encourage you to arrive in time for the official Classic UK start times.
